S\u00fcgisel \u00f5hku paisatud v\u00e4ikesest seminarist sai aga ootamatult suur konverents.<\/p>\n<p>Viimati peeti toidukultuuriteemalist konverentsi viis aastat tagasi. Tookord keskenduti toidukultuurile l\u00e4bi rahvap\u00e4rimuse, kirjanduse ja traditsioonide. Ka n\u00fc\u00fcdne 7. detsembril toimunud konverents \u201eParimad palad\u201d keskendus taas toidukultuurile muinasajast t\u00e4nap\u00e4evani ning selle uurimise v\u00f5imalustele.<\/p>\n<p>Toidup\u00e4rand v\u00f5ib meile olla nii isiklik, et pelgalt m\u00f5tegi endast kaugemale minna hirmutab. Kui muudes valdkondades r\u00e4\u00e4gitakse esivanemate kogemusest \u00f5ppimisest, siis toidu puhul leiutab viimne kui inimene oma jalgratast. \u00d5nneks on ajalool omadus kahandada tagantj\u00e4rele esmaavastaja \u00f5ndsat tunnet, kuid see annab kinnitust, et ka teised on sama kogenud ehk iga uus on ammuunustatud vana.<\/p>\n<p>Retsept on see pidepunkt, millega saab j\u00f5uda roogade algup\u00e4rani. Kui erinevate arhiiviallikate kaudu on v\u00f5imalik murda l\u00e4bi pidude eelarvete ja kirjelduste arvatava men\u00fc\u00fcni, siis retsept \u00fctleb, kuidas v\u00f5idi toitu valmistada. Pealtn\u00e4ha lihtne, kas pole! Inna J\u00fcrjo anal\u00fc\u00fcs nn paganate kookide teemal n\u00e4itas aga, kuiv\u00f5rd detektiivit\u00f6\u00f6d n\u00f5uab \u00fche toidu ajatelje kokkupanek. Kas ja kui palju v\u00f5ib retsept ajas muutuda? Kleopatra saiakestest seak\u00f5rvadeni \u2013 see on alles lugu. Nimetus <em>Heydnische kuchen<\/em> kandub 14. sajandi keskpaigast edasi, j\u00f5udes meile Christina Wargi 1781. aastal eesti keelde t\u00f5lgitud kokaraamatu kaudu. No ei klapi! Keskaeg on see piir, kui on juba v\u00f5imalik v\u00f5rrelda arheoloogist ainest kirjalike allikatega ning neid koos vaadates teha j\u00e4reldusi tollaegsete s\u00f6\u00f6misharjumuste kohta.
