Kuigi seda s\u00fcnteesiti esmakordselt juba 1891. aastal, leidis kemikaal kaubanduslikku rakendust alles 1950. aastate teisel poolel, mil sellest sai uue plastmassi, pol\u00fckarbonaadi aluskomponent. T\u00e4psemalt valmistatakse pol\u00fckarbonaati bisfenool A ja fosgeeni (COCl<sub>2<\/sub>) reageerimisel. Kui n\u00fc\u00fcd j\u00e4rele m\u00f5elda, siis on pol\u00fckarbonaat valmistatud kahest m\u00fcrgist:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1) fenool on kergesti aurustuv kristalne aine, mis halvab inimese keskn\u00e4rvis\u00fcsteemi ning p\u00f5hjustab teadvusekaotust. Teise maailmas\u00f5ja ajal kasutasid natsid seda individuaalseks hukkamiseks s\u00fcstimise teel;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2) fosgeen ehk s\u00fcsinikoksiidkloriid on v\u00e4rvitu gaas, mis moodustab organismis lagunedes soolhappe ja p\u00f5hjustab l\u00e4mbumissurma. Seda m\u00fcrkainet kasutati Esimeses ja Teises maailmas\u00f5jas gaasir\u00fcnnakutes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bisfenool A ja fosgeen annavad aga v\u00e4ga k\u00f5va, l\u00e4bipaistva ja kauni pol\u00fckarbonaadi, millest toodetakse hulganisti tarbeesemeid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Epoksiidvaikude valmistamiseks pannakse omavahel reageerima epikloroh\u00fcdriin ja bisfenool A. Tegelikult kasutatakse BPA-d veel ka pol\u00fcvin\u00fc\u00fclkloriidi tootmisel, t\u00e4psemalt pehmendatud pol\u00fcvin\u00fc\u00fclkloriidi antioks\u00fcdandina.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kuidas me sellega kokku puutume?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">BPA satub inimese organismi peamiselt s\u00f6\u00f6gi ja joogiga, aga ka naha ja hingamisteede kaudu. Pol\u00fckarbonaadist toodetakse lisaks teistele suurt l\u00f6\u00f6gitaluvust n\u00f5udvatele toodetele tugevaid ja k\u00f5vasid mitmekordseks kasutuseks m\u00f5eldud plastn\u00f5usid (topsid, taldrikud, kausid, joogipudelid, lutipudelid, mikrolaineahjus kasutatavad n\u00f5ud). Ka Saku L\u00e4tte veekanistrid, milles seisev vesi kustutab tuhandete kontorit\u00f6\u00f6tajate janu, on valmistatud pol\u00fckarbonaadist. Teine v\u00f5imalus, kuidas meie toit BPA-ga kokku puutub, on metallist konservanumate vahendusel. Nimelt kaetakse plekk-konservide ja -purkide sisemus epoksiidvaiguga, et takistada metalli korrosiooni happeliste toitude v\u00f5i jookide tulemusel, aga ka metalliosakeste migratsiooni konserveeritud toitu v\u00f5i jooki.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Naha kaudu leiab BPA tee meie organismi igap\u00e4evaelus kasutusel olevate pol\u00fckarbonaadist tarbeesemete, n\u00e4iteks m\u00e4nguasjade, prillide, CD-plaatide vahendusel. Konservide ja plekkpurkide sisek\u00fcljed kaetakse epoksiidvaiguga.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Lenduvate osakeste ja tolmu teel j\u00f5uab BPA meie organismi epoksiidvaigu baasil v\u00e4rvide, pinna- ja p\u00f5randakatete ning\u00a0\u00a0 materjalidesse lisatud leegitakistite seest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Miks BPA-d ohtlikuks peetakse?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">BPA on juba aastaid olnud paljude uurimislaborite huviorbiidil (t\u00f5sisemalt alates 1990. aastate keskpaigast). On tehtud hulk loom-, aga ka inimkatseid, mille p\u00f5hjal arvatakse, et BPA soodustab mitmeid t\u00f5siseid tervisekahjustusi. Ohustatud on nii s\u00fcdamet\u00f6\u00f6, seede- ja hingamiss\u00fcsteemid, mitmete organite normaalne toimimine kui ka hormoonitase.<\/p>\n<p><em>Hormonaal- ja arenguh\u00e4ired<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">K\u00f5ige enam uuritud tervisekahjustus, millega BPA-d seostatakse, on endokriins\u00fcsteemi (hormonaals\u00fcsteemi) h\u00e4irimine. BPA p\u00f5hjustab h\u00e4ireid sellega, et imiteerib \u00f6strogeeni. Tegelikult katsetatigi 1930. aastatel BPA kasutamist kunstliku \u00f6strogeenina, aga kuna selle efektiivsus oli 37 000 korda n\u00f5rgem kui \u00f6stradioolil, heideti BPA hormoonravimina k\u00f5rvale. H\u00e4iritud hormoontase v\u00f5ib p\u00e4rssida lapse arengut ning viljakust.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Euroopa Toiduohutusamet kinnitas 2015. aasta jaanuaris, et arengu ja viljakush\u00e4irete koha pealt ei ole selle ohtlikkuse kinnituseks veel piisavalt t\u00f5estusmaterjale. Nimelt puudub p\u00e4dev andmetehulk, mis p\u00e4rineks inimuuringutest raseduse ja imetamise ajal. Samas kinnitas amet, et suures koguses v\u00f5ib BPA t\u00f5epoolest viljakust kahjustada.<\/p>\n<p><em>Neuroloogilised kahjustused<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Emasloomad annavad vere kaudu oma organismi sattunud BPA loodetele edasi. On t\u00f5estatud, et teatud m\u00e4\u00e4ral v\u00f5ib see loote alles v\u00e4ljakujunevat ja seet\u00f5ttu v\u00e4ga haavatavat n\u00e4rvis\u00fcsteemi ning ajutegevust m\u00f5jutada. Tulemuseks on \u00e4revus-, \u00f5pi- ja m\u00e4luh\u00e4ired. Igaks juhuks mainin, et mitmest artiklist jookseb l\u00e4bi m\u00e4rkus, et k\u00f5rge BPA hulk m\u00f5jutab pigem t\u00fcdrukute ps\u00fc\u00fchikat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Euroopa Toiduohutusameti kohaselt ei saa aga \u00fchendavat tugevat joont neuroloogiliste kahjustuste ja BPA vahele t\u00f5mmata, kuna uuringute tulemused ei \u00fchti ning \u00fchtlasi olevat neis rohkelt metoodilisi probleeme, n\u00e4iteks liialt v\u00e4hene hulk katsealuseid ja varieeruv BPA annustamine.<\/p>\n<p><em>Immuunsuss\u00fcsteemi kahjustused ja allergiad<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Loote ja v\u00e4ikelapse kokkupuudet suurema koguse BPA-ga seostatakse immuunsuss\u00fcsteemi puudulikkusega. Katsed on ka t\u00f5estanud, et kemikaal soodustab allergiliste reaktsioonide esinemist, mis puudutavad eelk\u00f5ige hingamiselundkonda (astma). J\u00e4llegi ei peetud Euroopa Toiduohutusametis katsete l\u00e4biviimist piisavalt p\u00e4devaks, et tulemusi 100% t\u00f5siselt v\u00f5tta. Ometi kinnitati, et BPA v\u00f5ib t\u00f5epoolest t\u00f5en\u00e4oliselt p\u00f5hjustada allergilist kopsup\u00f5letikku.<\/p>\n<p><em>Metaboolsed h\u00e4ired<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hulk n\u00e4riliste peal tehtud katseid viitab, et BPA m\u00f5jutab gl\u00fckoosi ja insuliini reguleerimist kehas ning p\u00f5hjustab rasvumist. Nimelt aktiveerib kemikaal \u00f6strogeeni imiteerides rasva retseptoreid ja stimuleerib rasvarakke. 2013. aasta suvel avalikutati ka inimuuringute tulemused, mis saadi 1326-lt\u00a0\u00a0 9\u201312-aastaselt lapselt v\u00f5etud uriiniproovist. Katsealusteks valiti just lapsed, kuna t\u00e4iskasvanute maks suudab BPA-d k\u00fcllalt edukalt kehast eemaldada, lastel aga detoksifikatsioon nii edukalt veel ei toimi. Tulemused hoidsid \u00fchtset joont ja pidasid paika j\u00e4llegi pigem t\u00fcdrukute puhul. Nimelt pea k\u00f5ikide \u00fclekaaluliste t\u00fcdrukute uriinis sisaldus k\u00f5vasti \u00fcle normtaseme BPA-d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Samas v\u00f5ib \u00fclekaaluliste laste kehas leiduda enam BPA-d seet\u00f5ttu, et nad s\u00f6\u00f6vad tihtilugu rohkem pakendatud ja t\u00f6\u00f6deldud toite, milles on lisaks suuremale kogusele rasvadele ja s\u00fcsivesikutele ka enam BPA-d. Kokkupuude toidust v\u00f5i korraga mitmest allikast (toit, tolm, kosmeetika ja termopaber) saadava BPAga on tunduvalt v\u00e4iksem kui lubatud p\u00e4evadoos.\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Aga keda siis uskuda? Vahest aitab otsuse langetamisele kaasa see, et vaatamata keemiat\u00f6\u00f6stuste suurele vastuv\u00e4itele, et see kogus bisfenool A-d, mis inimese organismi normaalse elutegevuse tulemusel satub, ei kujuta tervisele mingisugust ohtu, nimetas Kanada 2010. aastal BPA potensiaalselt m\u00fcrgiseks kemikaaliks. Esimese asjana keelustati BPA kasutamine lutipudelite ja beebin\u00f5ude valmistamisel. Alates 2011. aasta kevadest keelustati Euroopa Liidus BPA-d sisaldavate lutipudelite import ja tootmine, 2012. aastast USA-s. See t\u00e4hendab seda, et plastmassi valmistamiseks ei ole kasutatud bisfenool A-d. Plastmasside juures on nende \u00fclesandeks muuta materjal elastsemaks ning vastupidavamaks purunemisele ja madalamatele temperatuuridele.Segatuna pol\u00fcmeeridega ei moodusta ftalaadid pol\u00fcmeerahelatega tugevaid kovalentseid sidemeid. Selle asemel m\u00e4ssivad pol\u00fcmeeriahelad ftalaatidid enda vahele. Kui aga plastikut kuumutada, v\u00e4\u00e4nlevad pol\u00fcmeerahelad ftalaatide \u00fcmbert sedav\u00f5rd lahti, et pehmendite molekulid saavad materjali pinnale migreeruda. Ftlaate v\u00f5ib plastikust eraldada ka lahustitega. Mida vanem on plastmassmaterjal, seda lihtsam on ftalaatidel selle pinnale migreeruda.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kuidas me nendega kokku puutume?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">K\u00f5ige suurem valdkond, kus ftalaate kasutatakse, on plastmassit\u00f6\u00f6stus, kus neid vajatakse pehmendava lisaainena. Diet\u00fc\u00fclftalaat (DEP, mida leidub paljudes kosmeetika- ja kehahooldustoodetes) v\u00f5ib p\u00f5hjustada rinnav\u00e4hki. Ometi ei ole seni tehtud p\u00f5hjalikke inimuuringuid, mis konkreetselt kinnitaks, et ftalaadid on otseselt inimorganismidele kahjulikud. Selliste katsete tulemused on ftalaatide ohutust propageerivate tegelaste jaoks liialdused ning seega ebakorrektsed. Negatiivseid tulemusi andnud teste ei saa aga samuti tihtilugu t\u00f5eseks pidaga, kuna katsetes annustatakse \u00fcldiselt \u00fcht ftalaati korraga, samas kui inimesed puutuvad kokku mitmetega. Seega, kui n\u00e4iteks m\u00f5ni ftalaatidest kinnitatakse ohutuks, v\u00f5ib see \u00fcheskoos teiste kemikaalidega inimese organismis siiski kurja teha. Sama kinnitab ka Ameerika \u00dchendriikide Toidu- ja Ravimiohutus Administratsioon (<em>U.S. Food and Drug Administration<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">K\u00f5igi nende poolt- ja vastur\u00e4\u00e4kivate seisukohtade keskel on siiski mitmete ftalaatide kasutamine nii Euroopas kui Ameerikas keelustatud. Euroopa Liidus hakati juba alates 1999. aastast m\u00f5ne ftalaadi kasutamist lastele suunatud m\u00e4nguasjades ja kehahooldustoodetes piirama. DEHP, BBP ja DBP kasutamine on piiratud k\u00f5ikides m\u00e4nguasjades, DiNP, DiDP ja DNOP kasutamine on piiratud alla kolmeaastastele lastele m\u00f5eldud m\u00e4nguasjade valmistamisel. Alates 2015. aastast peab Euroopa Liidus tegutsevatel tootjatel olema BBP, DEHP, DiBP ja DBP kasutamiseks spetsiaalne luba.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mida teha?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kuna me elame maailmas, mis on t\u00e4is igasuguseid kemikaale, sh ftalaate, ei saa me neid t\u00e4ielikult v\u00e4ltida. Ftalaadid satuvad meie organismi otsekontakti kaudu, aga ka lenduvate orgaaniliste \u00fchenditena \u00f5hust, pinnaveest ja toidust. N\u00e4iteks voolikud, mida m\u00f6\u00f6da soe piim l\u00fcpsimajades jookseb, on PPVC-st, seega sisaldab isegi poest ostetud piim teatud koguses ftalaate. Ometi saab mingil m\u00e4\u00e4ral kokkupuudet ftalaatidega v\u00e4hendada.
