Staa\u017eika \u00f5hus\u00f5itjana kasutas armeekomand\u00f6r \u00f5hupalle juba Vene -Jaapani s\u00f5ja ajal. Klubi liige oli ka eestlane J\u00fcri Herman.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">J\u00e4rgmine klubi president oli ka baltisakslane, krahv Johan (Ivan Vassiljevit\u0161) Stenbock-Fermor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esimest lennukit Eestis n\u00e4hti Raadil. Tallinna elanikud n\u00e4gid esimest lennukit aasta hiljem.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Eesti esimese mootorlennuki lennu tegi Raadi m\u00f5isa v\u00e4ljade kohal 14. aprillil 1912 Vene lendur Sergei Utot\u0161kin kahepinnalisel Farman-t\u00fc\u00fcpi lennumasinal. Selle lennu filmimiseks sai Johannes P\u00e4\u00e4suke lubat\u00e4he Eesti Rahva Muuseumi kaasabil, ja sellest p\u00e4evast algab Eesti filmiajalugu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Postimees (nr 86, 16. aprill 1912, lk 2) andis sellest lennust \u00fclevaate:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u201eJuba kella neljast hakkas rahwast Raatuse uulitsa kaudu jala ja woorimeestel lendamise platsile voolama. P\u00e4\u00e4ltwaatajate arw platsil ulatus tuhandeteni, palju rohkem rahwast oli muidugi w\u00e4ljaspool. Kohalej\u00f5udjad w\u00f5isid lendamise apparati, mille kallal \u00f5hus\u00f5itja mehaniker weel nokitses ja mille kohta hra Utotshkin kooli\u00f5pilastele seletusi enne ja p\u00e4rast lendamisi andis, ligemalt waadelda. Lennumasin oli kahe kandepinnaga Farmanni s\u00fcstemi riist. Peab \u00fctlema, et ta esimesel silmapilgul ligemalt waadates pettumuse tunnet \u00e4ratab. Lendamise probleemi kallal on inimesesoo erksamad p\u00e4\u00e4d aastasadade pikkuselt m\u00f5telnud ja uurinud. Peaks arwama, et masin, selle uurimise wili, w\u00e4ga peenike ja keeruline riist on. Kuid mis sa n\u00e4ed? Puust traatidega \u00fchendatud keppisi ja lihtsa linase riidega \u00fcle t\u00f5mmatud kandepindasid (tiibu), m\u00f5ne s\u00fclla laiusid. Neil on \u00fcks niisugune w\u00e4ike pind nokaks ees ja kaks \u00fclestikust pikaks sabaks taga. K\u00f5ik nii lihtne materjal ja lihtsalt ja kergelt tehtud. [&#8212;]<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Kella 6 \u00fcmber laup\u00e4ewal ronis \u00f5hus\u00f5itja Utotshkin oma kipaku istme peale. Et k\u00fclm ilm oli, siis paksus \u00fclikuues, p\u00e4\u00e4 ja k\u00f5rwad tuule wastu hoolega kinni m\u00e4ssitud, inimesed taganesid m\u00f5lemile poole k\u00f5rwale, soldatid hoidsid apparati sabast kinni, mehaniker kallas mootorile \u00f5li kurku ja l\u00fckkas ta k\u00e4ima. \u00c4geda surisemisega t\u00f6\u00f6tawad w\u00e4ikesed tiiwakesed. Ei tahaks uskuda, et need suur apparadi lendu j\u00f5uawad t\u00f5sta, aga lendaw liiw ja t\u00fchjade toolide \u00fcmberkukkumine hulga maa p\u00e4\u00e4l n\u00e4itawad, misssugust tuult see lihtne \u00f5hukruuw suure kiirusega j\u00f5uab teha. Kui masin t\u00e4ies hoos, lasewad soldatid lahti. Kergesti jookseb masin ratastel sammu 50 edasi, siis t\u00f5useb ta, nagu laste n\u00f6\u00f6riga t\u00f5mmatud \u00f5hu-madu propelleri t\u00f5ukamisel pool liusklewate kandepindade t\u00f5stmisel kergelt \u00f5hku, \u00fcle majade kaob ta surisedes Raadi m\u00f5isa w\u00e4ljadele, \u00fcle kasarmu kiriku torni.[ &#8212;]\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sevastoopolis sai 1912. aastal merelenduriks baltisaksa soost mees \u2013 mit\u0161man von Essen, hiljem said lenduritunnistuse\u00a0 merev\u00e4eleitnandid Paul Axel Emmanuel von Liphart (1913) ja N.,Wiren, staabikaptenid parun Dellinghausen, Arthur von Vietinghoff-Scheel ning Otto Hennike Richard Eric von Maydell (1917).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Peterburi s\u00f5jav\u00e4eringkonna lennuroodu (\u00fclem oli Eesti p\u00e4ritolu polkovnik J\u00fcri Herman) 10 lennuki ringlennu (Gat\u0161ina &#8211; Tallinn &#8211; Haapsalu &#8211; Riia &#8211; Tartu &#8211; Narva &#8211; Gat\u0161ina) vahepeatuse jaoks lasi Raadi m\u00f5isnik parun von Liphart \u00a01914. aasta suvel siluda Raadi m\u00f5isa p\u00f5llu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">K\u00fcmme \u00f5hus\u00f5itjat alustas oma ringreisi Gat\u0161inast 28. juunil. Lennati Tallinna, sealt Haapsalu kaudu Riiga ja \u00fcle Valga Tartu. Et orienteeruda, tuli lenduritel j\u00e4lgida raudteeliine ja maanteid. Muid navigeerimisvahendeid sel ajal ei olnud.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">30. juuni \u00f5htul s\u00fc\u00fcdati maandumisraja t\u00e4histamiseks l\u00f5kked ja Paul Axel Emmanuel von Liphart maandus \u00fcksi oma lennukiga Raadi m\u00f5isa v\u00e4ljale. Teised lendurid j\u00e4id Valka \u00f6\u00f6majale ja lennukid saabusid Raadile 1. juuli \u00f5htul.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Selle ringreisiga pandi alus ka Raadi lennuv\u00e4ljale. Parun Liphart lasi Raadi p\u00f5llu siluda ja kutsus lendurid endale k\u00fclla. Paruni huvi lennunduse vastu seletab t\u00f5ik, et tema vennapoeg Paul Axel Emmanuel von Liphart, oli j\u00f5udnud saada (mere)lenduriks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1917. aasta suvel tegutses Venemaal 91 lennusalka, sealhulgas ka neli kindluste \u2013Tallinna, Kroonlinna, Petrogradi ja Odessa \u2013 salka. Merelendureid oli kokku 130 lendurit\u00a0240 lennukiga.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1919. aastal sai kapten Vietinghoffist Loodearmee lennuv\u00e4e (ehk tollase nimetusega: varustus\u00fclema juures asuva autoaviojaoskonna) \u00fclem. Tema ja ta alluvad interneeriti Eestis 1920. aastal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Eesti iseseisvumise j\u00e4rel kolis Raadile lennur\u00fcgemendi 2. eskadrill. 1919 toimetati Tallinnast Raadile kaks lennusadama angaari.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1925. aastal otsustas Eesti Vabariigi Valitsus laiendada Tartu lennuv\u00e4lja. Nagu kirjutab ajakiri \u201eS\u00f5dur\u201c, anti lennuv\u00e4lja ja\u00a0 \u00f5ppeplatsi laiendamiseks kaitseministeeriumile \u00fcle Raadi m\u00f5isa piirkonnas asuv \u201eDauguli [Daugulli] aed\u201c.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Samal territooriumil avati ka esimene Tartu lennujaam, mida teenindasid eesti s\u00f5jav\u00e4elased.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Alates 1930. aastast likvideeriti lennur\u00fcgement, Tartus Raadi lennuv\u00e4ljal baseerunud \u00fcksus nimetati 2. \u00dcksikuks Lennudivisjoniks ja tegutses selle nime all 1940. aastani. Iseseisvuse l\u00f5puaastatel oli Raadi \u00fcksuse varustatus v\u00f5rdlemisi vilets (kolm T\u0161ehhi p\u00e4ritolu luure- ning kergpommituslennukit), lennati peamiselt relvastamata treeninglennukitel. Mais 1940 j\u00f5udsid Raadile viis Henscheli Hs-126 t\u00fc\u00fcpi luurelennukit, kuid nendel j\u00f5uti lennata vaid kuu aega \u2013 kuni j\u00f5ustus N\u00f5ukogude re\u017eiimi kehtestatud \u00fcldine lennukeeld.<br \/>\nTeise maailmas\u00f5ja ajal rajasid sakslased Raadile esimese betoneeritud lennuraja.
