See tekitab k\u00fcsimuse, kuidas on suhtutud t\u00e4toveeringutesse Eestis l\u00e4bi ajaloo, n\u00e4iteks enne Esimest maailmas\u00f5da v\u00f5i esimese Eesti Vabariigi ajal? Kuidas muutus suhtumine t\u00e4toveeringutesse n\u00f5ukogude okupatsiooni ajal ja kas ka varasematel aegadel on n\u00e4htud t\u00e4toveerimist kunstina v\u00f5i ainult kui rikutud nahka?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esimesed teadaolevad Eestiga seotud kokkupuuted t\u00e4toveeringutega p\u00e4rinevad baltisakslase Adam Johann von Krusensterni juhitud Vene esimeselt \u00fcmbermaailmareisilt aastatel 1803\u20131806. T\u00e4psemalt 1804. aastast, kui Krusenstern oma meeskonnaga Nuku Hiva saarele j\u00f5udis. Siis v\u00f5eti \u00fcks t\u00e4toveerija laevale ning peaaegu k\u00f5ik meeskonnaliikmed lasid end t\u00e4toveerida.<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\"><sup>[1]<\/sup><\/a> T\u00e4toveerija oli t\u00f6\u00f6tanud hommikust \u00f5htuni ning oma osa sai ka Krusenstern, kes lasi k\u00e4ele t\u00e4toveerida oma naise Julia nime.<a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\"><sup>[2]<\/sup><\/a> Toonaseid t\u00e4toveeringuid v\u00f5ib vaadata eksootilise suveniirina, mis meenutas nende kandjatele laevaretke ja seal kogetut igavesti. See seletab ka, miks paljud meremehed lasid t\u00e4toveerida Nuku Hiva saare k\u00fclastamise aastaarvu.<\/p>\n<p>T\u00e4toveeringuid peeti Eesti alal eksootilisteks veel pikalt. 1894. aastal k\u00fclastas Eestit maailmakuulus t\u00e4toveeritud naine <em>La Belle Irene<\/em>, kes esitles enda \u00fcleni t\u00e4toveeritud keha nii Suurgildi hoones Tallinnas<sup>[3]<\/sup> kui ka Londoni v\u00f5\u00f5rastemajas Tartus.<a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\"><sup>[4]<\/sup><\/a> Sarnasel eesm\u00e4rgil oli lasknud ka \u00fcks noor Eesti naine terve oma keha eksootiliste motiividega katta \u2013 palmid, maod, l\u00f5vi- ja tiigripead jne.
